Artists for Victoria Park
Sunday 9 March 2025

We're excited to announce another "Artists for Victoria Park" event based on popular demand! This event will be hosted by renowned artist David Hinchliffe and you’re invited to come and draw, paint or sketch Victoria Park in all its glory! Not creatively inclined? No problem! Bring your family, friends and children for a relaxing morning in the York’s Hollow section of the park, soaking up the beauty of the lake while watching art come to life. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just beginning, this is your chance to get creative while supporting the fight to save Brisbane’s largest inner-city green space.

Date: Sunday 9 March 2025
Time:
8:00am
Location: Victoria Park / Barrambin - meet at York’s Hollow / Lake Barrambin

Transport options: If driving, the closest parking to York’s Hollow is Gilchrist Avenue. The Northern Busway stop of HERSTON is a short walk if you exit from the inbound bus platform straight into the park (but be aware that the walk is up and down hilly terrain). There are some cycle parks near the first barbecue area. There is also a free carpark at the main entrance to the park off Herston Road.

Bring Your Own:

  • For Artists: Bring your own materials (easel, paints, pencils, or whatever sparks your creativity) and capture the essence of this iconic park.

  • For Observers and Art Lovers: Pack a picnic, wander the park, and enjoy the magic as incredible artworks come to life around you.

  • Rug / chair

  • Refreshments / water

  • Hat

  • Sunscreen

  • Beach umbrella (as your artist position may not be in the shade)

This is a free event, however if you wish to make a donation to the campaign to Save Victoria Park, you can do so here.
