We are very concerned by the media reports that the 100-Day Review Report is going to recommend Victoria Park as a location for a major stadium for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2032.
This report was handed to the government in draft form on 24 February and the final report on 8 March. Neither of these has been made public at this stage.
On 25 March, the Premier is going to announce his decision about venues at an event organised by the Courier Mail. It will be held at Rivershed at Howard Smith Wharves from 11.30-2.30pm.
We plan to to have a Peaceful Protest outside the event from 10am so that we can be seen by participants entering the event.
If Victoria Park is proposed by the review and if the Premier agrees with that, he will be breaking a solemn election promise he made just four months ago and one he has repeated many times since then.
We have an opportunity to make our views plain to the Premier.
Together, we can make our views known and protect this cherished green space for future generations.
